These seem like a logical choice on a new guitar. Makes changing strings much quicker and may help with tuning stability too. I had some locking grovers fitted on my Benford, but haven't had to change strings yet. I just changed some that had been on my Gordon Smith for about 2 years! I have noticed that one of the tuners on there seems to be coming apart. I just found that there is a locking version of the old style Klusons. I'm tempted to get those. I've not found them being sold by anyone in the UK, but they are on ebay for about £50 delivered, which is not too bad.
